When a young witch is forced from her home by humankind, can she awaken her powers and find a way to save her home? People and nature are at odds in this epic Ghibli-esque fantasy manga from debut author Yumeji In a world devastated by humankind and forsaken by plants and animals, only witches have the power to communicate with nature. A long time ago, plants and animals lived in harmony . . . until humankind came to power and, unable to coexist with nature, destroyed and exploited both flora and fauna without a second thought. Now the world has become a barren wasteland. But witches have the power to speak to nature. Blamed for the extinction of plant life, and feared by humanity for their powers, they hide away from the rest of humanity in secret lairs bursting with greenery. Pili, a young witch-apprentice, has set out on the roads accompanied by the wolf Oak. However, she is not accustomed to the world outside and traveling long distances. Her fatigue quickly takes its toll, and she ends up injuring herself by tumbling down a rocky slope! Fortunately, a boy named Bowei finds Pili and takes her home to nurse her back to health. However, the arrival of the unfamiliar young lady arouses suspicion among other villagers, who quickly discern her true nature as a witch. And all captured witches share the fate of execution! Eden of Witches is a magical and lushly illustrated coming-of-age story perfect for fans of Princess Mononoke, Nausicaa¨, and Witch Hat Atelier, brought expertly to life by rising star manga artist Yumeji. It will sweep readers away into a fairy tale where witches and their familiars are the last keepers of the natural world.

EDEN OF WITCHES GN VOL 02

Long ago, plants and animals lived in harmony... until the humans arrived. Unable to coexist with other species, humans mercilessly destroyed everything in their path, forcing fauna and flora into hiding. For hundreds of years, the world has been nothing but a vast, barren desert. Luckily, a few pockets of nature still exist; sanctuaries of witches, extraordinary women who can hear the call of the plants. Despite their abilities, humans despise witches and blame them for the disappearance of nature. While Pili continues her search for eden with Oak by her side, she has yet to grasp the true mercilessness of the world around her. A run-in with another traveling witch opens her eyes to the harsh reality of traveling solo. The witch, Laminala, vows to teach Pili all she needs to know about survival in a barren land. Oak keeps watch over Pili, even when her worldview needs a major adjustment. She must challenge her own beliefs before she's ready to start her search for Eden in earnest.

SILENCE GN

There once was a land where humans and monsters both lived. The sun protected the humans during the day, but at night the monsters were on the prowl. On the day that the sun disappeared forever behind the clouds, the terrifying monsters, no longer warded off by the sunlight, hunted the humans in the day and the night. For almost thirty years, Saber and his village were cut off from the rest of the world. They have no choice but to communicate with each other using sign language to avoid the monsters, who can track them by sound and especially by voice. However, the village encounters trouble when a young woman named Lune arrives in the village. She tells them that there is a better way to fight monsters-by becoming monsters themselves. The villagers leave everything behind, traversing the looming mountains that surround them to find other humans who can help them. In order to escape a life devoid of peace, it is up to Lune and the villagers to summon something they have long forgotten-the courage to live.
