After a recent family tragedy, a boy sets out to purchase a Christmas tree with the help of his big brother’s ex-girlfriend, Katie. Trying to ease his father’s mourning and hold what’s left of his family together, Katie and the boy search for a Christmas tree in their small town. Together, they try to reclaim a bit of Christmas and help each other deal with the aftermath of death.
